Orion, modern spirit under (classic) cover
The Nomos Glashütte Orion is one of the most popular collections of the Nomos manufacture in Glashütte. Even though a stereotype Nomos model the rather round profile varies from the Nomos regular straight-lined shape. Curved glas covers a scaled dial and provides a gracious appearance perfectly adjusting to every wrist. The Orion is one of the basic sets models of the Nomos Glashütte manufacture being introduced in 1992 for the first time. It owes its name to the lense-shape, reminding of space ships and figures of science fiction. Yet the Nomos Glashütte Orion is far from any nostalgia a rather neoteric technological masterpiece of manual skills.
In 2010 Nomos expands the Orion collection and adds on larger and smaller formats followed by a new strap of suede being attached to those models of minor diameter. Currently the manufacture’s selection contains a choice of 11 versions of the Orion collection. Among those only the 33 mm version features the aforesaid suede strap, while other models stick to traditional Shell Cordovan leather straps.
